Welcome Witches, Wizards and Muggles!
Welcome to the official website of wizard rock band, Slytherin Soundtrack!
Wizarding NewsOctober 2013
Hey wizards and witches, Slytherin Soundtrack began in 2009 as the successor to a silly project called Prophets of Godric's Hollow. The latter was kicked off by the boom of wizard rock and the former by the want to make better music. You can read a Wizrocklopedia interview here for more info on that and other questions. Now, wizard rock isn't dead. It will live on with us (so corny) but it also isn't really conducive to new outputs. Outside of the figureheads, wizard rock might as well be dead. So with a hairy heart, I must say Slytherin Soundtrack is hanging up the invisibility cloak. We will celebrate SS's short life with one final album that will be available on Bandcamp in the next couple months (so check that link). I feel particularly sad about this. On one hand, an era already ended with the final film. Yet, it still has life with the fans, conventions, Wizarding World, and of course wrock. Now that I'm throwing in the wrock towel, it feels like a whole new end. I also am somewhat regretful that I didn't delve into wrock during it's heyday. I am grateful for the friendships that I've made and the opportunities given whether it be to attend the last Potosi Wrockstock or make some awesome compilation records. Meanwhile, I'll be in the dungeons. |
